Mr. Barbone wrote - Dixieland would not have been around in 1904. The term
itself, as an music
adjective, did not come into usage until the late 1920s.

I was referring to the language of dixieland not the term - as a type of
music it could have predated the turn of the century. The timing of the word
Dixieland being applied to it is totally immaterial.
