[Dixielandjazz] World's greatest trumpet player??? Bob Barnard???

I'm just passing on what I get from Australia...it's in the "ear" of the 
beholder I guess...there are SO DAMN many great cornet/trumpet players out 
there I sometimes wonder why I even take mine out of the case!!! When I was 
younger...in my teens...I wanted to be the "world's greatest" cornet player, 
and if I had been lucky enough to have any talent, I WOULD be today!! I 
practiced my arse off...of course, being in a church that absolutely forbade 
listening to, dancing to, or playing any kind of  "modern" music, ESPECIALLY 
JAZZ, didn't help a bit!!
Guess what?? All of the schools I attended growing up, now have jazz AND 
swing bands!
It was an almost mortal sin then, but it's OK now!!
