I've received the Service Outline and the Description of the New Orleans
Funeral from the Church where Rev Melanie Morel-Ensminger presides over "A
New Orleans Funeral For The Past Year". The service requires a New Orleans
Jazz Band.

Our Band did it this year with a quartet: Tuba/Banjo/Trumpet/Clarinet. Plus
we had 4 sit-ins from the Congregation. We got paid $100 per side man for a
one hour service. The tunes are EASY and it makes for a wonderful service.
The congregation loves it and sings Down By The Riverside, Precious Lord
Take My Hand. Band, if able, Sings Just A Little While To Stay Here, What A
Wonderful World and Closer Walk With Thee.

I've mailed it out to every one who asked (that I can remember). If you want
a copy, please write me off list and I will forward the information.
Reverend Morel-Ensminger is happy to share without charge. All she asks is
idea and content attribution to her and the Unitarian Universalist Church in
Cherry Hill, NJ.

Barbone Street has an open ended continuing gig commitment for this service
every year. No reason why every band leader on the list shouldn't have
his/her band working in a church that first Sunday with a New Orleans
Funeral for the past year, every year also.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
