Here is a snip from a note received from a fellow jazz band leader in
Philadelphia, PA USA about our performance for the high school kids last
week. His Orchestra is part of a Clef Club effort to make jazz more visible.
He was in the audience.
Clef Clubs? Formed a long time ago here, and in many other US Cities, by
Black Musicians because they were not permitted to join the segregated
American Federation of Musician locals back then. And they were denied
musical work in many venues. Today, they do one hell of a job in the USA
bringing the music forward.
The "Legends of Jazz Orchestra" is one hell of a swinging unit, whether or
not Bebop is your forte. GREAT MUSICIANS, GREAT PROGRAMS, NICE PEOPLE. And
their mission is to preserve INTEREST in the Philadelphia jazz of the 40s,
50s, and 60s.
See snip from their web site below and ask yourself why we don't have more
programs like theirs for Trad Jazz. How do we expect this music to prosper
if we do not bring it to the young?
JAZZ LIVES IN PHILADELPHIA
Cheers,
Steve Barbone

THE PHILADELPHIA LEGENDS OF JAZZ ORCHESTRA is the world's best big, BeBop
band with a Philadelphia focus. They make this claim without hesitation or
reservations because they are the world's ONLY big, BeBop band with a
Philadelphia focus. If you haven't heard this band, you don't know what
you're missing!!!!!!!
MISSION These 16 cats swinging and 1 chick singing, are dedicated to
preserving interest in Jazz musicians and the Jazz music style from the
