Below are similar versions of The Attack of The Killer Piano at the Condor
Club In San Francisco.

Bob Ringwald, have you ever played a gig like that?

Cheers,
Steve Barbone

The historic Condor Club located at the gateway to San Francisco's North
Beach has been reborn as a dance club, bar and restaurant, the Condor Club.

The Condor first rose to fame as America's original go-go bar on June 16th,
1964 when San Francisco chanteuse Carol Doda appeared atop the white baby
grand piano in nothing but a bikini bottom. America would never be the same.
While many local venues quickly followed suit, Carol reigned as queen,
growing in both fame and ... size, she was a pioneer of silicon.

That famous piano that Carol started the topless go-go craze from years ago
remained a draw for the sexually adventurous. After closing one night a
Condor dancer, Theresa Hill, and bouncer Jimmy Ferrozo got busy on the
piano. It was set up to dramatically raise up above the main floor, and
somehow while in the heat of the moment the switch was hit. The oblivious
couple kept going all the way up, becoming pinned to the ceiling. A janitor
found them several hours later, the much distressed but otherwise unhurt
Theresa stuck below Ferrozo who had expired, probably from shock.

The Condor Club still features photos from the old days, including many of
Carol and her famous assets. And of course, we still have the killer Piano,
now safely tucked away against our ceiling. Come by and be a part of San
Francisco history at the Condor.

Footnote: The movie THE ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATO'S is no match for the
real life ATTACK OF THE KILLER PIANO! One night after closing, one of the
bouncers of the Condor Club, along with one of the clubs dancers, decided to
make beautiful music together while lying atop the hydraulic piano. At some
point during this symphony, the switch was hit and the piano began its slow
rise to the ceiling. In time, the bouncer and the dancer were pinned to the
ceiling, the dancer cushioned protectively by the bouncer who lay atop her,
both of them squeezed between the ceiling and the piano like a bartender
squeezing a lemon. The dancer was discovered alive in the morning by a
janitor. As for the bouncer, it was the last concert performance of his
career!!!
* THE CONDOR CLUB: 300 Columbus Avenue at Broadway near Big Al's. The
club closed for awhile but has since reopened as a sports bar/bistro.
