Of course we all know the FIRST time International Morse
code was used in music. Beethoven's 5th Symphony - the
Victory symphony (di-di-di-dah) (V) repeated over and over
and which became a theme of WWII. (and which became a
favorite of LIDS tuning up on the air didididah didididah
didididay ad nauseum) 73 (best regards) Charlie (
di-dah-dah dah-dah-dah-di-di di-di-dah-di di-di
dah-dah ) Coleman
This is definitely trivial but, what the heck? I was a radio intercept operator (and instructor) for many years in the Army and I am pretty sure we used to vocalize our code like this:
Dit dit dit dah, rather than as in the above.
I had trouble reading Charlie's version, and was wondering why until I spotted his spelling: "di di di dah."
See how smart I am for a trombone player?
