Dear Craig,
Further to my reply regarding the author of "Sunshine" as played by Ernie
Carson and the Castle Jazz Band. GHB BCD-327.
DJML listmate (and my mate), Phil O'Rourke, here in Oz sent me the CD
details and an mp3 of the tune you have asked about.
I believe that this "Sunshine" is the Venuti-Lang tune.
However, the Ernie Carson band rendition is not based strictly on the
original version and is probably a much later hand-me-down lead line and
chords picked up from somewhere.
I am still trying to compare the two in my head.
If you can locate the Venuti-Lang record (it is on Mosaic and JSP CDs) I
would appreciate your comment.
Or anyone else's for that matter.
