Hi Elazar,  

There are two ways to make a growl sound:
 
1) Accumulate some saliva at the back of your throat, compress your mouth  
cavity and let it rumble while playing.
 
2) Use a flutter tongue technique: let your tongue relax and flutter while  
you are playing the note.
 
I use the first method.
