Bob Romans asked if Turk played baritone. I referred the question to Leon
Oakley who worked with Turk for quite a few years. Below is his reply.

YES: Turk DID play the baritone horn from time to time in selected tunes
and DID play it with a full, classical sound. I must also presume that when
Turk was in the Swing Bands in the 1930's he played is Trombone in a big
smooth tone which fit the music he was working in. Since his hero on
trombone from the early days was Roy Palmer, he chose that sound for the
Classic Jazz he liked best.
