The name of the film is "Sweet and Lowdown" and starred Sean Penn (believe
it or not) as thinly-disguised worshiper/competitor of Django Reihnardt.
Dick Hyman did the arrangements and conducting, Howard Alden the guitar
work. There's also a CD (Sony SK 89019) of "Music from the Motion Picture"
which also includes a few cuts from Django contemporaries such as Bunny
Berrigan, Sidney Bechet, and Noble Sissle.
