Here's a promo mailer about another form of church gig. Great idea to keep
the kids off the streets. In NYC in the 40s and 50s, many churches had
regular dance programs. Why not start one? This church supplies the hall at
no charge. Great acoustics, no sound enhancement needed.

SWING DANCE - May 6 - Friday Night - MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Produced by Rhythm and Bugs Featuring
THE BARBONE STREET JAZZ BAND - Direct from the Showboat Casino

9:00 PM to 11:00 PM - $15.00 per person - YOU ARE INVITED

The dance is produced by a group of young swing dancers. They are wonderful
people as well as GREAT dancers. Lindy, Collegiate Shag, Balboa, etc. Expect
about 100 to be there. They do it all and are the kind of kids (18 to 35) I
hope to get to come to our next gig at the Tri State Jazz Society.

Some are quite knowledgeable about Bix Beiderbecke, Artie Shaw, Louis Prima
Benny Goodman, Louis Jordan, Chick Webb, Fletcher Henderson, Gene Goldkette,
Casa Loma, Basie et al. They'd love to hear your take on the swing era and
they would love to dance with you.

So come on out and join the dance party. Just like those you went to in the
1940s and 50s. Remember those Church Dances? Come dance or listen to
Swinging Dixieland. (They will even Balboa to a very fast That's A Plenty)

St. Matthias Episcopal Church (basement)
2200 Genesee Street
Hamilton, NJ (Just a mile East of Trenton, couple of blocks from Rt 206)
