I attended a jazz festival in Orange County, CA over labor day weekend. 
This county is known to be a bastion of the far right, but I only met one 
local person....most were from someplace else.  Over the four days, I didn't 
hear any one even whisper a word about politics....or religion either, for 
that matter. It was just all about the music.  Refreshing....I think I'll go 
back next year.

Oh no!

It's a big conspiracy!  NPR has been espousing Marxist music theories for
years!  If they have their way, we'll no longer be able to pluck what we
want to on our own banjos because they'll be collectively owned by the state

and we'll be forced to play only what is pleasing to the masses (like Kenny
G licks).  Oh no, the Kenny Gihad is really a pinko commie movement being
pushed by NPR.  Time to dig out the old fallout shelter : )

We're all equal, but some of us are more equal than others!

Actually, NPR had a nice piece about tenor saxophonist Benny Golson today
(but they only had him on because he's trying to start a musical revolution
to crush the giant capitalist machine : ))
