Hu Bob--I  Yeah, I  remember  them too.  And that one-horse town, strangely 
enough,  was  Chester, where jazz  hibernated  and  survived
during  the horrible  Sixties,  due  to the efforts of  Chuck Slate  and  His
Traditional  Jazz  Band,  and a coterie  of   knowedgeable  and determined  
jazz fans  who  eventually  created  the  New Jersey Jazz Society.   Glory  
days!
