Jazz Bass Player Vernon Alley passed away on October 5th, 2004 (born 1915).

While most of his career of 7 decades was devoted to somewhat more 
modern jazz than OKOM, he did play with at a few Dixieland bands in the 
40's and 50's, such as Jack Sheedy's in San Francisco where he lived 
nearly all his life.
