[Dixielandjazz] Jazz in NYC

For those who might be visiting NYC in December check out this eclectic jazz
club/restaurant. Poetry and other art performances/seminars usually precede
the jazz and start at 6:00 PM. This is a very hip scene and has been going
on for 27 years. Mostly unknown, I think, among OKOMers.

Mostly modern, however there is also some OKOM. Like a Basie tribute on
Decenber 28.

Also for Tubists, note that December 23, might be interesting.

And latin jazzer Arturo O'Farrill ain't bad either.

Nor is the R & B group on December 8.

And Elizar, note the Israeli saxophonist Eli Digibri on December 1.

The Cornelia Street Café goes back a long way. More than a damn good
restaurant, the place presents jazz, poetry, literary and other art events 7
days a week. Last year about 700 happenings.

Reminds me of the Greenwich Village I grew up with in the 1940s, 50s and
60s.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
