THE NINA SCOTT QUINTET 

25 November 2004 - Clevedon Jazz Club

Jazz violin is fairly rare these days but the City of Bath has one of the finest exponents in Nina Scott who combines her Central European heritage with a Hungarian training to provide a passionate and lyrical lead to this new combination already making waves on the South West jazz scene.

Nina has wowed Clevedon Jazz Club audiences in the past leading 'Hot Strings' where her contrast to the bebop-influenced guitar of Dave Spencer, a uniquely talented musician, together with Dave Griffiths, one of the most renowned and entertaining double bass players who doubles up on mandolin, was so very well received.

These three musicians have now been joined by Mike Vince on percussion and Adam Briggs on keyboard to play an eclectic selection of classic Jazz, Latin and Gypsy numbers together with their own exciting new material as 'The Nina Scott Quintet to explore and expand the many possibilities of the jazz quintet

Although only formed about a year ago, the band share a love of the exciting 'Hot Club' sound and have developed a diverse repertoire performing widely at jazz clubs, pubs and jazz festivals across the country where they developing a strong and loyal following.

Thursday 25 November will be the groups first Clevedon Jazz Club appearance. The doors at the Club's Walton Park Hotel venue open at 8pm, the music starts at 8.30pm and its £6-50 'on the door'.
