Upon sober (increasingly rare) and mature (increasingly evident)
reflection, i think you're right. He has a recording from 1950 with
his band (Conrad Janis and His Tailgate Jazz Band) listed on
Amazon.com, and his tailgate-style is well listed
(spheroids-to-the-wall style).
