Hey all you Band leaders and the PR folks who promote you:
Here is a page from a West Coast Brass Band formed of about twelve college
kids from various colleges at least 100 miles apart. Probably will never go
Big time but they are getting lots of gigs around Northern California.
They play Rock & Roll songs with a Brass Band style a novel idea who
apparently has come. No competition for OKOM but doing their own thing for sure and
making a mark.
Cheers,
Tom Wiggins

Summer is upon us and we find ourselves contemplating how to spend the
warm days ahead. Let us consider the advice of our pinniped friends, the
sea lions. What do they do in the heat of summer? Swim in the refreshing
water of the Bay, bask in the sun, enjoy the fresh catch of the day, and
hang out with their buddies. Sounds rough, doesn't it? And where do the
lions of the sea go to enjoy these sultry days. Why, the same place you
can go to have the same fun: Pier 39! Plus, you have the advantage of
being able to visit the tourist shops and Ripley's Believe It or Not,
unlike the sea lions, who don't have pockets to keep their money in.
The only thing that could improve upon a day spent lounging with
your marine pals is some musical entertainment from the Blow Kings. And
that's just what you'll get when you come to Pier 39 at San Francisco's
Fisherman's Wharf on Saturday, June 26, at 11:30am. Afterwards, you can
treat a flippered friend to ride on the carousel.
O-fish-ally yours,
The Blow Kings
