Dear Bob,
Thank you for that extremely interesting info from Dan Barrett.
It certainly seems to answer my query. And then some.
I hope Dan gives permission for it to be posted to the DJML
All we need now is to find is a copy of the EP with "Georgia Sunset
Cakewalk" and the other 3 tunes.
Believe me it will be worth finding.
I can just see Tom Baker pulling that 'surprise' bit with the trombone solo
on Dan years later.
I first met Tom when he came to Australia in the early 1970s. A callow youth
who used to sit I with my band at Sydney's Royal George Hotel.
I have never heard nor seen a young musician progress so fast.
We maintained a close friendship up to his death in Oct 2001.
I heard and met the charming Dan Barrett on his visit to Oz in 1994.
(Was it really that long ago?).
