Dear list mates
I wonder how many of the admirers of McCoys Sugar Blues have heard the
original Sugar Blues recorded version by King Oliver.
Clyde took the Idea and developed it to an exagerated and caricate bad
taste interpretation, cleverly directed to big audiences unaware of jazz
roots. Congratulations, it hit the comercial mark. But please, lets
not think that he invented something new! Oliver and Mutt Carey were
specialists already in the early 20s. Many records to confirm that.
(N.B.: Im not questioning Clydes great talent).
