Wouldn't it be nice folks if all the Jazz Societies in the USA and abroad set
up the same thing with their Mayor and Cities and potential sponsors.
Better than sitting around waiting ten years for a new pub to open, now go
out there and make something happen, live music opportunities are knocking every
day, Take it to the People.
Cheers,
Tom Wiggins
On Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, the City of New Orleans will host a Jazz Town
Hall meeting from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old U.S. Mint. The purpose of the
meeting is to solicit opinions from the public about what the City can do to
promote jazz.
These comments will be included in the discussion at a Jazz Summit meeting on
Monday, Aug. 9, at which key leaders from government and the music, tourism
and hospitality industries will develop a strategy to implement new ideas.
For those unable to attend the Jazz Town Hall meeting, there are four ways to
contribute suggestions:
Leave a voice mail message at the Music Business Development Office hotline,
(504) 565-8139
Send a fax to (504) 565-8130
