Doug had a good point about one chorus rhythmless!

Years ago I stole a gimmic from Billy Maxted. He  started  "Tailgate
Ramble"  with just drums then added Trom bone playing syncopated bass
parts, then  the low register clarinet, then muted trumpet, then trumpet
opened up and they did a chorus ff.

On the ending he would go from Key of F to Key of G and finish in Ab.

I thought it was great
