My favorite quote on this subject comes from Gene Berthelsen, the leader of
Sacramento's Catznjammer Jazz Band, who says:

"Every Dixieland song is more or less like Tiger Rag."

Hard to argue with that, ness paw?

To Jeff's question about songs I would add Bourbon Street Parade. It has
some common Dixieland progresions. The pattern also works over Washington &
Lee Swing, Bill Bailey, Second Line and probably a few other tunes. They are
usually in different keys, however.
