Dear Harry,
The suggestion that the pianist may be Eubie Blake is a valid one, except
that his only solo version of "Stars And Stripes Forever" (for the CBS LP
set 'The Eighty-Six Years of Eubie Blake') was not made until 6 Feb 1969.
He did an earlier version in 1959 but this was with a quintet which included
Buster Bailey and Milt Hinton.
This is always assuming (from your original comments about recognising the
performance) that the film version was taken from a record.
