Speaking of high notes Bill Gunter opined that some clarinet high notes
sound shrill and some sound wonderful. Why is that? he further asked.
(hope I am paraphrasing correctly)

The answer is the same as the one to the guy, lost in NYC, who asked a
jazz musician: "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?"

"Practice man, practice."

And about Trombone Sex, the real pros have the knack of pointing the
horn at a beautiful lady, opening the spit valve and clearing the slide
while staring at her, with a faint smile. ;-)

Trombone high register in OKOM? How about Lee Gifford in the 1950s, at
Nick's in NYC, with Pee Wee Irwin and others? How many of you gray
beards had the good fortune of seeing/hearing him there?

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
