Not a figment, but very well documented. Right down to the ancient Roman
Coins that show the Emperor Nero tooting on a bagpipe. Actually they date
back well before Roman Times. The Greek's were using them before there were
any "Romans". (Including the fore bearers of our estimable list mate, Bob
Roman ;-))
Just ask list mate John Pappas, whose web site shows two early Greek
versions. Yes, it would appear that all good things came to the UK via the
Mediterranean Civilizations. ;-)
Definitely a weapon of Mass Distraction, no matter in whose hands. ;-)
