Hey Mop and List mates:

Don Mopsick asked about the cover of the Storyville Blue book. The
following information is available on the web.

http://fsweb.wm.edu/amst370/2001/sp3/legend_of_storyville.htm

Tells the history of Storyville and has a black & white image of the
original blue books.

Is a reproduction of the Blue Book and the cover picture, in color,
looks like the image in the article above. You can buy this reproduction
book for $5.00. Or you can copy the image which appears to be quite
accurate. This reproduction has the phone numbers and addresses of one
of the original editions. (There were 5 editions)

Both are a fun read and help to give us all an idea of the raciness,
raucousness and wicked environment into which jazz was born. Very vital,
earthy music. Listened to by a generation of alienated kids back then
that wasn't to different from today's generation of alienated kids that
listen to rap.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
