Just a quick question . . .

A friend just phoned and wanted to know who wrote "The Torch"

I know there are lots of torch songs and a google search wasn't too helpful.

The song I'm referring to has lyrics which start:

"Gee but it's tough when the gang's gone home
And you're standing on the corner all alone (etc.)"

Anybody?
