Bill Gunter has it right...I've been around that band a lot and have heard
them give this explanation on several occasions.
>"Hot Antic" is a slangy translation of "Haute Antique", which is in turn
>loosely translated into English as "old style", or maybe "old fashioned",

I always had the idea that Hot Antic was a loose rendition of the French
pronunciation of their word for "authentic."
