Great "definitions" Post by Bill Haesler. Here are a couple of tongue in
cheek additions: 

"Jazz Musicians" are people who have no money, no real job, and no car, but
they are in at least one jazz band, usually more. They would rather die then
play any other music but jazz. Many are rude.

"Musicians who also play jazz", have some money, a day gig, and a car. They
play all types of music in all types of bands. Many are rude.
