Dear friends,
Like many on this fine list, I only knew Jim Beebe, through his numerous
erudite responses to list topics over the years, some personal
correspondence and a very small handful of his records.
We did not always agree, but he believed in my right to hold my opinions.
Jim knew for far too long that he was on the way out, but accepted his fate
with remarkable courage.
A great man and a great loss.
