old  Columbia  label,  decided  to  renovate the  
Hall  and  make  it  a major studio.   And  yes,  you've  guessed  it,
they 
ruined  the  acoustics.

One of the places we play on a fairly regular basis is a restaurant made
up to look like a Wild West joint (they serve ribs!).....yep, in
Madrid!!

Well, the roof is very high, and is tin, and the place is fairly
cavernous, so you would expect it to sound awful.  Nope!  Sounds great.
There are no parallel walls, and gobs of shelves, mezzanines, huge
wooden barrels, lots of wood......

So, loosely speaking.....mess is good for acoustics.  Reflections are
what can cause cancellations & that's when you have to add eq, etc., to
make up for "lost" areas of audio.
