Hi Listmates:

OKOM lives in Pennsylvania, USA and competes on an even footing with
"modern" jazz.

As some of you know, Reading PA is the home of the annual Berk's Jazz
Festival, a 10 day Smooth Jazz Festival that is among the top festivals
of its kind in the world. The organizers have long lamented that there
was no "World Class" jazz night club in Reading, given the large
attendance at the festival. That will change next month.

There is a BRAND NEW JAZZ CLUB opening soon in Reading PA. It is a
wonderful venue, great stage, lights and sound. It is also a wonderful
restaurant for dinner before and during the music. The club will present
JAZZ in all of its many genres 6, or possibly 7 nights a week. Capacity
is about 250 people.

The "soft" opening is the weekend of October 3 & 4, to work out the
bugs, if any. Then the Grand Opening the following week. The club will
feature local bands during the week, and then regional and/or national
bands on the weekends.

BARBONE STREET has been chosen to perform for the GRAND OPENING that
first Friday night, October 10. We are very honored that OKOM has been
chosen, over all the other genres for the opening weekend night. It is
an acknowledgment of our success during the past 4 Berk's Jazz Festivals
after we convinced them to try "Dixieland" as an added attraction. (We
are also booked for several return engagements) Here is data from the
performance sheet on VIVA/Good Life Bistro and Lounge in Wyomissing, PA.

If you are in the area, please join us in support of JAZZ and OKOM at
this new club on opening night.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
