[Dixielandjazz] God's Trombone

Fascinating thread about Bb.

FYI, the Bb is a "tuning note" God created.

As Bill Gunter implied, God can play any instrument He chooses and He
created the trombone as a challenge for His own talent and also to amuse
Himself watching humans fumble with the slide.

Since He created the trombone as a sort of "tuning slide" itself, there is
no human way to "tune a trombone."

God made Bb the "closed position" of the slide so that trombone players
couldn't possibly tune to any "fiduciary"
since the slide can only go so far into "closed position."

Once a Bb is found by the player, every other note is "relative" but not
specific. Some joke on us hey?

BTW, God can be heard playing Jazz through various players down through
history.

It is only an opinion, but I personally have heard Him a lot in the playing
of Bobby Hackett on cornet. :)
