Fascinating piece.
I frequently heard of "jake leg" as a kid growing up in Oklahoma.  Oklahoma
was a dry state and of course bootleggers flourished as did tales of bad
liquor causing "jake leg."
May not be OKOM but an interesting piece of Americana.

This is a stretch.  Only the introductory paragraph has anything to do with
1930's blues.  I've not heard of "jake leg", but it's rather interesting
nonetheless.
