Long ago and far away, politcal satirist Michael Magee dressed up as that old dirt farmer, wit and raconteur from Beamsville (Ontario, Canada), Fred C. Dobbs. Fred railed against the passing social and political scene. In Canada, you have to "dress up" to rock the boat. Fred also had several alter-egos, among them J. Carter Hughes, the Chairman and CEO of Dominion Gas and Screw, J. Baunston Tudball, of the Canadian Post Office (before privatization), Gaston de B. Hadfield, food critic extraordinaire, Harse Holeman, brewmaster and lederhosen model. Fred C. also authored the national best-sellers, "The Golden Age of B.S." and " The Platinum Age of B.S." Where is Fred now, when we are so obviously in the midst of the "The Titanium Age of B.S."?

pbayes,
wistfully, from The Left Coast
