Dear Bill,
As a matter of interest, did King Oliver's version include the verse?
It is a neat little verse but did not know of its existence until Beryl
Bryden sang it with our band (1985?) and passed her own chords out to us.
She made us play it in F, no doubt to suit her vocal range.

Do you think Oliver decided to suppress the release of his own 1927
recording because it could not compete with Morton's earlier and magnificent
1926 release?   As composer, he would have shared Morton's royalties anyway.
You have the advantage of me here, as I have not heard the revived 1960
Oliver take.

There - I like to give a question that you probably only speculate on!
