Can anyone on the list remember the Roosevelt Grill scene at lunchtime in New
York on weekdays? Around the mid fifties. Anyone who could play could show up
and stood a chance to be a sit in. No money was involved. Just the love of
playing for an hour or less with some other Dixie lovers who had another career.
Many lawyers, admen (like me), media types, etc., etc. Woody Allen's pub
(where he played) wasn't far away.
