Bruce Willis (blues, rocker)
Keanu Reeves (rocker)

Dave;

If you're going to add people like Ozzie Nelson, Jack Sheldon, Harry
Connick, Jr., etc. who are musicians first and actors on occasion, then I
submit the following:

Conrad Janis (trombonist, actor, producer)
Benny Goodman (clarinetist, actor)
Louis Armstrong (trumpeter, singer, actor)
Billie Holiday (singer, actress)
Bessie Smith (blues singer, actress)
and many, many others.

Woody Allen has been mentioned here on the DJML for playing
clarinet(actor, producer, director, comedy writer, Academy Award winner)
Anyway it brings back some memories about some other celebrities that I
recall playing instruments as well as other activities.. A few that come to
mind are Maury Wills (banjo, baseball player), George Segal (banjo, actor,
Academy award winner),Dudley Moore (jazz pianist, comedian, movie
credits?),Hal Linden (clarinet, actor, TV sitcom). Jack Sheldon ( trumpet,
actor, comic, TV personality) Ozzie Nelson( big band leader, TV star), Kevin
Bacon (rocker, actor), Harry Connick( actor, pianist, singer, song writer)
who could forget Steve Allen ? ! I'm sure there are many more, but I find
the thread interesting.

Perhaps we can think of others.......

Steve Martin plays excellent banjo. And Dudley Moore's movie credits include
"10"with the lovely Bo Derek and the "Arthur" films. Another fine English
comedian, Spike Milligan of Goon Show fame, played good jazz trumpet. I have
a photo of Margaret Thatcher playing the clarinet, but I suspect this was
just a publicity stunt. Other politicians (who I guess qualifty as celebs):
the odious Tony Blair played guitar in a punk rock group while at
University, and I believe that Bill Clinton used to blow tenor sax,
presumably when Monica L. hadn't got her hands on his instrument. And
lastly, the Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) fancied himself as a drummer
and in the 30's used to sit in with jazz bands in nightclubs - prompting
Dave Tough to observe "I hope he's good at being a King!"
