OK: some detail on Peter Bocage: born Algiers, La July 13 1887. Played
violin, banjo, trumpet & trombone.. With Billy Marrero's Superior Orch (with
Bunk) circa 1910. Around 1913, played in Joe Oliver's band at Pete Lala's
saloon. Sometime around 1918 was with A J Piron Orch (playing trumpet and
violin), then Fate Marable. Led his own Creole Serenaders from 1928. Zenith
Brass Band 1946. In Eureka Brass Band in the 1960's, back on violin with the
Love-GilesRagtime Orch (and other groups) and a regular on trumpet at
Preservation Hall until his death on 3 December 1967. I'm sure there's more
to be dug out in the reference books.......
