Smaller in size is relative...the Pujé is longer than my Benge shepherds
crook, but the length of tubing is the same as a "regular" trumpet or
cornet, and it weighs MORE than any of my other horns...my Selmer K cornet,
Martin Committee cornet, and both of my Benge cornets! It's a handful, but
worth it for it's sound, slotting, and response!

Yes, of course. It is a smaller instrument which, those who possess it say,
performs just as well as a larger instrument.

Yes, and he does play it  in excellent fashion. I've played with him in
various
groups a few times and it is always a highlight experience for anyone to gig
with him. It is to our everlasting shame here in the USA that he is not
gigging
somewhere every weekend for big bucks. The Europeans are much more
appreciative
of his talent and thus he spends a good deal of his time gigging / touring
there.

Bobby's brother, drummer Tony Di Nicola, is VERY WELL KNOWN here in the
Eastern
USA. He worked with Harry James Orchestra etc., and still works with most of
the accomplished Dixieland / Swing / Modern players gigging here in the
East.
He is on Arbors CDs with Kenny Davern, Howard Alden, Bucky Pizzarelli, Greg
Cohen, Bob Haggart, Dan Barrett, Joel Helleny and other top flight jazz
musicians. I have been lucky enough to gig with him also, a few times during
the past 10 years. Also a highlight experience.

My post was simple double entendre, directed at the statement that those who
possess smaller instruments say they perform just as well as larger
instruments. Jon-Erik, it seems, would bear the truth of this out, at least
as
far as horns are concerned.
