PRESS RELEASE

ROBIN REECE JAZZMEN
13 November 2003 - Clevedon Jazz Club

A regular visitor to Clevedon Jazz Club, playing Sax with the Denise Lawrence Band, and now for the second time - by popular request - Robin brings his own hard swinging Dixieland band of top class, highly entertaining musicians to the Club to be enjoyed by members and non members alike. The Jazzmen have become firm favourites everywhere with their leaders direct approach to his music, his relaxed style and broad sense of humour rubbing off on their performance.

The front line is completed with Jeff Meredith, on Trumpet and Saxes. He has worked with Robin for over twenty years and they seem to read each other so well, both as solo musicians and backing and playing together. There can't be many musicians playing Brass and Reeds equally well and Jeff is probably the best of them all with his sensitive 'cool' approach.

Dave Collett has been with the band for about three years. A Band leader in his own right he was with 'Acker' in the early days and then with the Avon Cities. He has been entertaining Bristol audiences ever since with his vocals and unique piano style. Joining Dave in the rhythm section are two more great musicians, Jeff Miller on Double Bass and Mac Cambray on Drums.

The doors open at 8pm, the music starts at 8.30pm and its £6-50 'on the door'. Further details of this and all other Clevedon Jazz Club events, and Club membership - members get a substantial discount on admission charges! - are available from Trev on 01275 343210 or from the Club's web site at http://www.clevedonjazzclub.co.uk.

Good Jazzin'
