[Dixielandjazz] Wolpe and the Bauhaus

Hello all

First the humour, then the didacticism.

Yes, Wolpe was influenced by Bauhaus principles (and dadaism also). He
embraced the Bauhaus idea of utopian socialism and it is possible that his
early exposure to multi-media exhibitions flowed through to his music. In
later life, he specifically rejected "elite" music, and wrote for amateur
groups.
