Once upon a time, a few musicians put together a six piece band with
the hope of getting some gigs at a local night spot just outside of
Toronto. The year was 1977, and The Sensation Jazz Band has been
playing steadily ever since, impressing audiences nationally and
internationally along the way. Today SJB is one of Canada's premier
traditional and Dixieland jazz ensembles, and has the distinction of
being the first Canadian band to be named Honorary Citizens of the
City of New Orleans. The Sensation Jazz Band has appeared at the
Toronto, Ottawa and Edinburgh International Jazz Festivals, and on
five separate occasions at the French Quarter Jazz Festival in New
Orleans, where discerning audiences know their jazz.

"Toe-tapping, finger-snapping old-time Dixieland."

"Experienced, versatile jazzmen."
