[Dixielandjazz] Beecham and Jazz

That imperious English conductor, Sir Thomas Beecham, was famous for his 
outspoken comments
which, to quote the centenarian musicographer, (if there isn't such a 
word, there should be!), Nicholas Slonimsky,
were often spiced "with mild obscenities, usually of a scatological 
nature."
"Beecham Stories", a paperback published in 1978, has recently been 
reprinted and contains much of
 Sir Thomas's repartee, including this definition--
Jazz: "The most degraded form of human aberration."
