Dear Berry,
Welcome to the DJML.
You may not agree with everything you read, but you WILL find a great little
jazz family of helpful friends.
The record you are looking for is:
"I Ain't Gonna Give Nobody None of This Jelly Roll" by Sharkey and His Kings of
Dixieland.
The singer is Lizzie Miles.
It was recorded in New Orleans at sessions on 24/25 June and 2 July 1952 with
Sharkey Bonano, t; Jack Delaney, tb; Buji Centobi, cl; Stan Mendelson, p; Arthur
Pons, g; Joe Loyacono, sb; Monk Hazel, d.
It was issued on a 10" Capitol LP 'Midnight On Bourbon Street'.
I have the Australian release (CLP-006) which is the same as (US) H/T367.
Two other tunes from the date plus more from Nov 1952 are on Capitol T792 'A
Night In Old New Orleans' (which I also have).
Capitol have yet to reissue this stuff on CD. Something we discussed a few weeks
back.
However, the 6 Lizzie Miles vocal tracks are on Document DOCD-1019 'Jazzin' The
Blues - The Remaining Titles (1943-1952)'.
This is a compilation featuring Ada Brown, Ruby Smith, Mama Alberta Price,
Bertha 'Chippie' Hill and Lizzie Miles.
Document is a wonderful blues label produced by Austrian Johnny Parth, readily
available in Europe.
I have 100s of his CDs!

Kind regards,
Bill.
