To call the small European labels that specialise in releasing audio
restorations of classic jazz 'Pirates' is to reveal a total ignorance of the
situation and of the wonderful efforts labels like Frog, Timeless and
Classic make. Without them we would be reliant on the inept efforts of the
majors who, if you talk to them, will enthusiastically tell you that jazz
does not sell and is not worth the time of day. Brian Harvey
