Hi, Listees:
Dan Augusting wrote regarding a link a site for the preservation of sound recordings "..an old original recording of early jazz is at least as deserving to be kept as an early copy of a book or article from the same period."
I heartily agree. And the International Association of Jazz Record Collectors (IAJRC) has published a very nice monograph titled "Assessing, Insuring, and Disposing of Jazz Record Collections" authored by David Goldenberg (untimely deceased) Information can be found on IAJRC web site http://www.geocities.com/IAJRC
The publication is a treasury of information to the serious as well as the casual collector who may have a few jems in his possession. The main focus is ensuring that early recorded jazz is well preserved for future generations.
    Regards,
Charlie (IAJRC, FIGA, ARS W8FIM, and supporter of live jazz) Coleman
