[Dixielandjazz] What OKOM is turning into folks and keeping it
alive for youngsters

I have seen YoungbloodBB live several times now and really like their
recordings (but I do work at a very progressive radio station and they
are almost kind of "tame" when in the company of some of the other
jazz, rap and "rock" groups KFJC plays!)
Another modern group that takes on the old styles of jazz and does
interesting things is "Ballin' The Jack" from NYC - many of the
individual musicians are in other, more extreme styles of bands but
they do seem to respect the old masters.

There really is a lot of new stuff out there on the fringes of OKOM but
it takes an open mind and ear to find it sometimes...
