Think there might have been a post about someone visiting NYC this week
and asking about OKOM. This coming week is a veritable feast in NYC for
OKOM. For Example, in addition to the regular club dates of the
Nighthawks, Woody Allen and Les Paul:

92ND. STREET YMCA. 212-415-5500 8 PM starts.
Tue: Tribute to Bix , Venuti and Eddie Lang with: Randy Sandke, Howard
Alden, Bucky Pizzarelli, Andy Stein, Vice Giordano and Dick Hyman.

Wed: Piano Party with Dick Hyman, Derek Smith, Eric Comstock, Hilary
Cole, Mike Lipskin, John Sheridan and others.

Thu: "New Stuff" with Randy Sandke, Dick Hyman, James Chirillo, Jay
Leonhart

LINCOLN CENTER PLAZA (outside) "Midsummer Night Swing"
7:30 PM Start, Swing Dance Lessons at 6:30 PM

Wed: Son Sublime
Thu: Geno Delafose
Fri: Cliff Korman
Sat: Illinois Jacquet (yeah he is still playing)

ALICE TULLY HALL - LINCOLN CENTER

Wed: The Spirit of Django Reinhardt" 7 PM
Brian Lagrene, Dorado Schmitt, Brian Nolan Trio, Lodovic Beier, Samson
Schmitt, Brian Torff and Ken Peplowski. (These folks are EXCELLENT)

BLUE NOTE 212-475-8592

Tue & Wed: Anita O'Day
Thu thru Sun: Jon Hendricks

That plus all the modern jazz at the clubs. And other OKOM gigs that
don't make the radar screen of the New York Times.

However, bring your wallet. Jazz in NYC is neither cheap, nor mediocre.
For the most part, it is profitable and self supporting.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
